Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Hyderabadi Soya Biryani:
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 1/2 cup soybean chucks
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 4 tbsp oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp sahi jeera
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 2-3 cloves
- 1 brown cardamom (bari elechi)
- 2 green cardamom (choti elechi)
- 3 onion
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 capsicum, chopped
- 4-6 baby potatoes, peeled and poked
- 1/4 cup curd
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp kasmiri mirch powder
- 1 tsp Cummin seeds powder
- 2 tsp biryani powder
- 1.5 tsp salt or to taste
- 3 tbsp saffron influence milk
- 1 handful coriander leaves
- 1 handful mint leaves
- 3-4 green chilli slit
- 1 tsp ginger slit
Steps to make to make Hyderabadi Soya Biryani
- First let the soybeans chunks flourish in hot water for ten minutes.
Then filter it out in a bowl.

- Now in soybeans chunks add ginger garlic paste, curd, cumin powder and salt to taste and mix it well and leave it for ten minutes.
Further, heat 1tsp oil in a pan add marinated soybeans chunks and cook on low-medium flame till the chunks turn golden brown.
Keep it ready.


- For barista,
Cut 2 onions into thin slices make sure they are almost same thickness.
Heat oil in a pan, add onion slices and fry. Keep the flame on low-medium.
Once they start changing its colour take out half onions that we use with vegetables.
And fry the remaining onions until crisp and golden. - Next, Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.
Heat 3 cup water in a deep pot add in 1tbsp ghee, brown cardamom, green cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, soaked rice and 1/2tsp salt. Cook until the rice cooked upto 90%.
Drain extra water and keep the rice ready.
- In a pressure cooker heat the remaining oil of onion. Splatter sahi jeera and add slices onion, cook till onion becomes translucent. Now add baby potatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes then add ginger-garlic paste cook until raw smells good.
Further, add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, biryani masala, salt, kasmiri mirch powder and tomato paste. Combine everything together and cook for 6-7 minutes, then add fried soya chunks. Combine everything togetherand turn off flame.


- Layered cooked rice over the vegetables. Then, on top spread barista (fried onions), saffron milk, coriander leaves, mint leaves, ginger slit and chilli slit.
(This stage You may also add 1tsp kewra water, if you like)
Cover the lid and cook for 12-15 minutes on very low flame. - Let it cool at temperature until the pressure inside the cooker goes down naturally.
Open the lid and fluff the rice carefully with a sharp spatula.
Hyderabadi Soya Biryani is ready.
